The Impact Youll Make in this Role The person hired for the position of Industrial Hygienist will be a member of the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) team. This position requires working with the team to drive continuous improvement activities in industrial hygiene and ergonomics. Providing hands on support, auditing and maintaining the Industrial Hygiene plan for 3M Guin.

As a(n Industrial Hygienist (Guin, AL), you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Leads incident investigations impacting employee health.
• Develops and implements comprehensive industrial hygiene program consisting of such components as hearing conservation, ventilation management, exposure assessments, Ergonomics, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), etc.
• Coordinate activities and improvement efforts for the industrial hygiene elements of the Global Safety and Health Plan.
• Performs exposure monitoring, analyzes results, and implements necessary controls to ensure employee health and safety in accordance with 3M and Regulatory agency requirements
• Develops and conducts training on Industrial Hygiene and other Safety Programs.
• Review new chemical compositions entering the facility for IH concerns.
• Partner with the 3M engineering and industrial hygiene organizations on relevant programs and projects.
• Monitor regulatory trends and activities related to industrial hygiene that could have an impact on the facility or operations.
• Provide input for the annual EHS planning cycle related to industrial hygiene and ergonomics.
• Willingness to be on-call to support areas of responsibility

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
• One (1) year experience in a Safety and/or Environmental position with emphasis on Industrial Hygiene (an Internship or Co-op is considered qualifying) in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Master's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health and Safety, Public Health or related discipline from an accredited university
• American Board of Industrial Hygiene, Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or willingness to obtain certification
• Experience working in a plant manufacturing and/or production environment (private, public, government or military)
• Experience with a wide range of exposure assessment sampling methods and relevant analytical methods including real time instrumentation
• Experience with an IH data management program (such as WorkCHEC-applies to internal applicants only)
• Ability to work in a team atmosphere
• Strong communication skills (verbal, written and presentation)
• Microsoft Office proficient, SAP experience a plus

Travel: May include up to 5% domestic

Relocation: May be authorized

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $95,825 - $117,120, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
