This exciting role offers opportunity to :

  • Requirement of this position is to perform testing and provide assistance to engineering personnel to setup, install and on-time completion of accurate product testing in accordance with specific test procedures as defined by the product engineering function at Electrical Group engineering divisions globally. The position requires to:

  • Perform test setups in completion of specific and standard test processes for Electrical products. Person supporting for installation and commissioning of new test facilities for Electrical test stand/ test setups.

  • Complete test requests according to specified test specs. within minimal time ensuring quality of work (first time right).

  • Implementation of corrective actions to test setups as required by established lab procedures or test requests or when performance falls below acceptable limits.

  • Communicate test programs with engineering appropriately to clarify purpose of testing and the results of ongoing tests

  • Take ownership of small projects, develop custom fixtures & continuously improve their skill set

  • Maintain close liaison with other engineers to standardize lab practices within group and with other groups in facility to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Maintain close liaison with product group to complete test projects with a high degree of quality and efficiency.

  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment in the test lab. Continually work to improve lab 5S

  • Strive to meet test lab performance targets established in balanced score card and ensure ISO compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Requirement -

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering with 6 to 10 years of experience

  • Minimum 4 years of experience i in testing of Electrical Switchgears.

  • Hands on experience in testing of LV & MV Switchgears assemblies, Panel boards, Distribution boards, PCC, MCC, Contactors, Relays, Motor Starters, MPCBs, ACBs, MCBs, RCCBs, MCCBs, RMUs, VCBs, Wiring Devices, Plug and Sockets etc.

  • Sound knowledge of IEC/NEMA/UL Standards.

  • Knowledge on Electromechanical & Electronics industrial products.

As a responsible critical position to ensure equipment uptime this position requires to:

  1. Read and analyze Electrical Schematics, Assembly Drawings & Component drawings.

  2. Prepares test plans basis applicable standards (ANSI /UL, IEC, CSA & NEMA) for any type of Electrical Product.

  3. Perform Electrical Tests e.g. Hi-Pot, Impulse voltage withstand test, Current Injection, Endurance (mechanical & electrical), Temp. Rise, Tripping & non-tripping tests, Environment tests (IP, Temp & humidity test), Visual Inspections etc. per standards (ANSI, UL, IEC, CSA & NEMA).

  4. Analyze & troubleshoot the test results using appropriate engineering calculations, system level analysis tools & draws conclusions based on test results.\

  5. Drive compliance to all the 5S & safety requirements as per MESH guidelines. Maintain clean orderly and safe workplace.

  6. Maintain and manage equipment calibrations for the lab and coordinate with sub-contract companies, as needed, to complete required activities. Perform Gauge R&R and measurement Uncertainty

  7. Drives continuous improvement at work coming up with creative ideas of productivity / quality improvements.

  8. Articulate and generate good technical reports based on test observations

  9. Strive to meet test lab performance targets established in Balanced Score Card and ensure ISO compliance

Skills:

Desired:

• Familiarity with IEC, UL, ANSI, NEMA and other applicable standards for electrical products.

• Thermal experience & electrical product background.

Preferred / Additional specialized knowledge

• Knowledge on Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s) and Human Machine Interfaces (HMI’s) used for the control and automation of custom systems built.

• Sound knowledge on Electrical Test Safety.

• Proficiency in PLM/ERP tools like SAP, Oracle.
