Amazon Mechanical Assembly Manager, Mechatronics and Sustainable Packaging in Hamme, Belgium

We are a global organization, with research and development labs based in Hamme, Belgium, Seattle, WA and Milan, Italy. Our development portfolio is focused on automation solutions in software workflows, matrix sortation and storage solutions, and mechanical singulation that provide broad extensibility across Amazon businesses.

We build the Robotics solutions that have enabled the efficiency that Customers have come to expect from Amazon's retail business.

Key job responsibilities

As the Mechanical Assemble Manager, you will be responsible for translating the organization’s mission and vision into departmental objectives and following up on the implementation of defined action points. You will build our assembly department professionally, establishing policies, systems, quality standards and procedures for the proper functioning of departmental processes. In doing so, you oversee the budget to achieve the preset objectives. This position also involves implementing improvements within assembly with a focus on the overall quality of our business processes and efficiently managing cost. You will also have the opportunity to coach and inspire employees within the assembly team with the aim of optimally utilizing, securing and developing their talents, competencies and technical know-how; and like a well-functioning assembly department to operate and ensure the long-term continuity of the business.

Basic Qualifications

  • People Management Experience

  • Experience with process improvement, strategy setting and operational excellence across multiple teams

  • Comfortable with using data to make decisions

  • Able to communicate (English and Dutch)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with lean manufacturing

  • First experience in the mechatronics domain
