15 type folks (tile, carpenter type folks, pool builders)

SHT stands for Special Haul Treatment

5 top level, 10 mid-level, 1 -2 lower level paying $20-$30

  • Shipfitters could work if they are open to working with adhesives

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Responsible for all hull treatment and non-metallic coating related operations for a designated job or jobs. Maintain a high quality of workmanship while supervising all Mechanics and Apprentices. Work with other Foremen and shipyard employees to coordinate the job. Inspect all equipment for proper working conditions. Perform repairs to equipment as needed. May be required to perform additional duties as deemed necessary by the supervisor for the completion of the job in a safe and timely manner.

• Perform both physical and organizational duties under leadership of Superintendents.

• Communicate effectively with inspectors and owner representatives and attend inspections of hull treatment work.

• Organize, supervise, lead, and train employees to complete projects within established guidelines and timeframe.

• Supervise SHT crew in all essential job requirements.

• Make certain that installation is done to manufacturers’ specifications directing Mechanics in correcting any area not up to standard.

• Submit crewmembers’ timesheets into payroll by deadline.

• Often required to make decisions.

• May be required to perform additional duties as deemed necessary by the Superintendent.

• Must be willing to comply with clean shaven standards needed to wear half/full face respirator.

• Follow all company rules and policies.
