Job Description

Are you a highly motivated individual who is passionate about Agile/Scrum methodology? Do you have a strong desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment that specializes in high tech software products for national defense?

Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is seeking a dynamic Junior Scrum Master to join our Minotaur software development team and help us drive innovation and efficiency in our projects. You will work in a hybrid environment in our Hanover, MD location.

As a Junior Scrum Master, you will work closely with our development team and be responsible for guiding teams through the Scrum framework and ensuring that all team members are working together effectively. You will learn how to facilitate daily stand-up meetings, spring planning sessions, and retrospectives, and work closely with product owners to ensure project goals are met on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate will have a general understanding of agile principles and methodologies, as well as experience working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You will champion the execution of the Scrum framework within their assigned teams. You should be a natural leader who can motivate and inspire team members to achieve their best work, and be comfortable communicating with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Gain a deep understanding of Agile methodologies and best practices

  • Facilitate the Scrum process, including sprint planning, daily scrums, sprint reviews, and retrospectives

  • Continuously seek to improve team processes and workflows

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and objectives

  • Provide guidance and support team members as needed

  • Promote transparency and openness in all team interactions

  • Coach and mentor team members on Agile principles and practices

  • Help the team identify and address obstacles that may impede progress or success

  • Monitor and report on team performance and progress

Minimum Qualifications

  • 0 years experience with Bachelors in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years relevant experience.

  • Strong desire to learn and grow in Agile/Scrum Methodology

  • Applicable knowledge of Jira

  • Strong skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency

  • Must be a US citizen and have the ability to obtain a US level secret clearance

Preferred Requirements

  • Previous experience in Agile/Scrum methodolgy, either through coursework, internship, or work experience

  • Passion for software development and technology

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills

  • An active US level secret clearance

Physical Requirements
