The Department of Environmental Protection, Bureau of Laboratories, is seeking a Chemist 1 to perform professional laboratory work analyzing and examining various substances and materials. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Chemist 1, your primary responsibility will be analyzing environmental samples for the presence of environmentally significant analytes using specialized techniques and equipment. Other duties you will be accountable for include assisting in daily sample processing, organizing samples for efficient and timely processing and analysis, recording unusual circumstances regarding a sample, and preparing scientifically accurate and thorough reports of work performed.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This position may require overtime based on operational needs. This position requires travel. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: A bachelor's degree in chemistry;or A bachelor's degree that includes 30 credits in chemistry or biochemistry. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.
