The Department of Human Services, Bureau of Human Services Licensing, Northeast Region is seeking a Human Services Licensing Representative. This position is responsible for conducting inspections for the purpose of enforcing state laws and regulations governing the licensing of personal care homes and assisted living residences to ensure the health, safety and well-being of personal care home and assisted living residence clients. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Human Services Licensing Representative, you conduct initial, annual, interim, provisional follow-up and monitoring inspections of personal care homes and assisted living residences, predominately in Northeast geographic area, with a high degree of independence and discretion, as assigned and in accordance with applicable statutes, regulations, policies and procedures, to determine compliance with state laws and regulations related to the licensing of personal care homes and assisted living residences.

You conduct complaint and incident inspections with a high degree of independence and discretion. These assignments are carried out in accordance with applicable statutes, regulations, and policies and procedures to investigate the factual circumstances related to the complaint or incident to determine compliance with applicable state laws and regulations. You also interview personal care home and assisted living residence clients, staff persons, family members, human service agency staff, medical professionals, law enforcement officials and others in the course of conducting licensing inspections to gather information relevant to the compliance of personal care homes and assisted living residences with state laws and regulations.

Also, you review technical medical, legal and programmatic documents generated by personal care homes, assisted living residences, human service agencies, medical facilities and professionals, law enforcement agencies and others to gather information relevant to the compliance of personal care homes and assisted living residences with state laws and regulations. In addition, you assist in the relocation of personal care home and assisted living residence clients from non-compliant homes to new living arrangements on emergency and planned bases. These duties include but are not limited to: identifying alternative living options; working with residents, families, and service agencies to determine resident needs and choices; handling and managing the on-site packaging of resident belongings; managing and tracking resident cash-on-hand, medications and records; arranging for transportation; and tracking resident placements.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week Work hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. This position is home-headquartered. Your office is based from your home unless you are in the field.
