DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Network Specialist 2, you must exhibit a broad range of specialized skills in a highly technical team.  You must have the ability to provide hands-on technical network support and mentorship to highly technical team members and consultant employees.  You will have the opportunity to interact closely with the Edge Networking Operations and Control teams. Communication is a key aspect of this position as you will be collaborating with team members to ensure efficiency of daily operations.  Key responsibilities include: Supporting the timely delivery of all services offered within the Edge Networking Solutions team Acting as a subject matter expert on assigned edge networks for agency and business partner needs and solutions Participating in the oversight of best practices for all change management initiatives especially those related to planned deployments and upgrades across the Enterprise Ensuring policy compliance across all aspects of Edge Network Maintaining and reviewing the edge networking catalogue of services and solutions through the ongoing service delivery improvement process Building relationships with Enterprise business points of contacts, internal and external business partners, service providers, network carriers, and other Enterprise network teams

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment

Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time.  In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection.  If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year of experience as a Network Specialist 1; or

Four years of information technology experience that includes one year of technical experience in network operation or network maintenance; or

Two years of information technology experience that includes one year of technical experience in network operation or network maintenance, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or

An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year of technical experience in network operation or network maintenance.
