Position SummaryUnder general direction, formulates and defines system scope andobjectives. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problemsconsidering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating timeand form of desired results. Prepares detailed technical specifications fromwhich programs will be written. Designs, codes, tests, debugs, anddocuments those programs. Competent to work at the highest technicallevel of all phases of applications systems analysis and programmingactivities. Regularly provides guidance and training to less-experiencedprogrammer/analysts.Responsibilities: Independently designs and/or codes and may lead others in thedevelopment of cost effective application and program solutions. Leads oracts as chief technical contributor to translation of business requirements totechnical specifications. Leads or acts as a technical contributor in thedesign of new applications or enhancements including integration ofpurchased solutions. Independently performs and assists other teammembers in providing ongoing system maintenance, research, problemresolution and on-call support tasks for existing systems. Is fully familiarand compliant with the efficient utilization of the prescribed methodologiesand ensures compliance for the work of all aligned resources. Oversees orperforms unit testing. May perform or assist with integration and systemtesting, according to detailed test plans to ensure high-quality systems.May assist business partners with User Acceptance Testing. With limiteddirection, supports the implementation of systems into production, includingintegration of purchased solutions. Responsible for Code AssetManagement for an application or set of applications. Supports andpromotes the reuse of assets across the organization. May lead or act as asubject matter expert for projects and/or service requests impacting anapplication or set of applications. Serves as team leader to direct technicalactivities, while also providing support for small and large highly complexprojects that require increased skill across multiple technical environmentsand disciplines, that have system wide impact and that integrate across theorganization. Receives some supervision and direction as regardsprioritization of work but is competent to work independently and to offerdirection and oversight to assigned team.Required QualificationsExpertise in one or more programming language, development tools, and/ordatabases and the systems development life cycle, applicable todevelopment organization.Understand the business and functional requirements that apply to theapplications supporting a sub-domain or domain as well as their relevantinterfaces.2-5 years experience in systems analysis and application programdevelopment.Experience with application development support software packages.Education: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent experience.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$72,100.00 - $144,200.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
