Actalent Electrical Engineer in Harrodsburg, Kentucky

The production Test Engineer is primarily responsible for Test Stations and Test-related procedures for mass production. Through data analysis you will develop strategies to improve the HW and SW performance and stability to meet production scheduled goals and objectives. Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth execution of daily production.

Job Responsibilities:

• Analyze and define measures for the continuous optimization of existing production test processes. (35%)

  • Responsible for the First Pass Yield Metric.

  • Able to do planning, scheduling, generate & update daily output reports.

  • Support quality management in risk analysis and validation of series products.

  • Check and optimize the manufacturing processes using lean methodologies.

• Communicate pertinent information regarding Test Stations and its relationship with production, communicate issues according to escalation procedures (25%).

  • Work closely with the other departments to ensure smooth execution of daily production.

  • Reporting of Downtimes for the different Test Stations and definition of corrective actions.

• Define, coordinate and execute corrective and preventive maintenance to the Test Equipment. (25%)

  • Responsible Functional Test Stations.

  • Troubleshooting and analysis of failures to determine problem root cause in the different Test Stations.

  • Procurement of spare parts and all relevant material for the correct operation of the different Test equipment.

  • Provide specific training and coordination of activities for Test Technicians.

  • Second level support for Test Technicians.

• Implementation of Engineering Changes and New Product Introductions to the production floor. (15%)

  • Work closely with the Design Team and NPI department to deploy the changes.

  • Active participation in the DFM.

  • Participate in the definition and creation of new Test Technologies, processes and tools for Manufacturing.

  • Creation of Test Programs for the different Test Equipment.

  • Perform GR&R and statistical process control procedures for the release of new HW and/or SW

Minimum Qualifications:

• 4-year College Degree in Electronics / Electrical Engineering or similar.

• Overall understanding of the entire test process and the tradeoffs of the various test methods

• Demonstrates participative management in problem solving.

• Possess strong time management skills to simultaneously manage multiple projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Programming languages: Python, .NET, LabVIEW.

• Test Sequencers: TestStand, Test Exec.

• Experience in Electronic circuit design and circuit debugging.

• Prior engineering experience in automotive / manufacturing environment. Strong computer skills. Ability to manage projects in a team environment.

• Possess strong initiative to complete project tasks on-time and in-budget.

• Possess strong communication skills to effectively communicate with cross functional teams.

• Available to travel globally as required to support machine design and validation, customer/supplier/group company support, etc.
