JOB SUMMARY In addition to performing the duties and responsibilities of a full time Staff Perfusionist, the Perfusion Lead Clinical/Didactic Educator supports and implements the educational activities and operations of the didactic and clinical Perfusion Students as well as the Hartford Hospital Cardiac Anesthesia Fellows. Minimum Requirements Education * BS and Certificate in Cardiovascular Perfusion Experience * 3 years Licensure, Certification, Registration * CT Perfusion License, ABCP Certified, BLS Certified Preferred Requirements Education * MHS in Cardiovascular Perfusion Experience * 3 years Licensure, Certification, Registration * CT Perfusion License, ABCP Certified, BLS Certified Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements* * * One (1) year experience in an instructional/teaching capacity with adults; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. * Strong presentation skills. * Must be self-reliant; takes initiative; results-oriented, open minded and approachable. * Ability to communicate ideas and information clearly, effectively and frequently (oral and written). * Ability to exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. * Ability to act independently to determine methods and procedures. * Comprehensive knowledge of theory and practice for cardiovascular perfusion procedures. * Demonstrated technical competence congruent with perfusion procedures and services. * Demonstrated ability to teach and train staff and students; and to develop and implement training plans. * Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, with other health care professionals and with students, educators, patients and families. * Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with co-workers, medical personnel, other health care staff and students, both individually and in groups. * Ability to organize and establish workload priorities and to coordinate a variety of programs and issues. * Demonstrated ability to develop training and instructional materials and evaluation tools. * Demonstrated ability to critically appraise research evidence We take great care of careers.
