We are seeking a highly motivated, conscientious, and diligent statistician who is flexible, dynamic, and able to work well in collaborative, cross-functional teams. The Postdoctoral Fellow will mainly provide analytical support to answer research questions by the HONEUR (Haematology Outcomes Network in Europe) research network. To harness the full potential of real-world data (RWD) in haematology, Janssen has initiated HONEUR, a secure, collaborative platform which enables participants (e.g., hospitals or registries) across Europe to accelerate RWD analysis and share the newly gained evidence. The initiative uses a federated data model whereby the data stay at the respective sites and the analysis is executed at the local data sources. HONEUR is well qualified to address the objectives of this study and to use the breadth of data while at the same time preserving data privacy with full local governance. He/she will receive comprehensive trainings on conducting descriptive and comparative effectiveness research using a variety of data sources patient-level data from prospective and retrospective observational studies, registries, claims- and EMR- databases, and post-hoc analysis of clinical trial-data by our internal experts. In addition, he/she will work with the team members and other market access functions to:

  • Perform statistical analyses in R and configure R shiny applications to present and visualize high volume of results across different research studies.

  • Provide statistical insight in the interpretation and discussion of study results.

  • Contribute to writing study reports and publications.

Qualifications

  • Candidates must have a recent or expected Doctorate Degree (e.g., Ph.D.) in (applied) statistics, epidemiology, data science, bioinformatics, econometrics or related field with strong methodological and statistical/quantitative background.

  • Experience in analyzing real world outcomes research/comparative effectiveness based on registries, or administrative/EMR databases in a pharmaceutical environment is a plus.

  • Advanced hands-on experience with statistical programming in R with good knowledge of R packages such as flexsurv, survival, ggplot2, dplyr, tidyverse, data.table, shiny among others.

  • Analytical creative mind-set with can-do attitude, intellectual curiosity, eager for continuous learning passionate about translating data into business-critical evidence.

  • The candidate must be self-motivated, productive, and team-oriented, with proven scientific problem-solving skills with an interest in the international context of healthcare systems and technology assessment.

  • The candidate must also have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • A strong alignment with ethical principles in Our Credo and a desire to be vital within a company where people care about patients and want to make a difference in global healthcare is essential.

This role can be filled in any central European country. The duration of the fixed-term contract can vary depending on country legislation.
