Akima Contract Vehicle Program Manager in Herndon, Virginia

Akima is seeking a GSA Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) and Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Program Manager to manage our large government-wide IDIQ contracts in excess of $1 Billion. The successful candidate will collaborate to maximize contract utilization and will provide support from the initial identification and capture of opportunities, all the way through to proposal submission. The position is located at the Akima office in Herndon, VA.

The Program Manager will represent the Akima IDIQ/GWAC center in the execution of inter-departmental projects and serve as a Subject Matter Expert on GSA MAS. This is a fast-paced environment with competing priorities. The Program Manager must be capable of discerning the priorities and comfortable working in this ever-changing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) and drive growth for GSA Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) and all Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPAs) under GSA MAS.

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to build and execute a GSA MAS strategy.

  • Train Akima stakeholders on the benefits of the GSA MAS contract program.

  • Build, manage, and maintain a comprehensive pipeline of business opportunities across various contracting vehicles, ensuring a steady flow of potential projects and contracts.

  • Develop and sustain effective relationships with government contract management offices and industry partners to drive business growth and enhance collaboration.

  • Assess incoming task order Requests for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and distribute them to relevant stakeholders.

  • Advise senior management on the strategic direction to maximize the benefits of contract vehicles, aligning with the company's goals.

  • Collaborate with business development leads and operational stakeholders, providing informed recommendations for decisions that enhance the likelihood of winning business.

  • Participate in proposal strategy sessions for strategic Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) or Government-Wide Acquisition Contracts (GWACs).

  • Attend industry meetings, conferences, and training sessions to continuously enhance knowledge of government procurement processes and industry trends.

  • Track and ensure that all requirements and deliverables under IDIQ contracts are met, maintaining compliance and performance standards.

  • Act as a liaison with internal customers, effectively communicating contract changes and other relevant data to ensure alignment and understanding.

  • Work collaboratively with Contracts, Subcontracts, and Purchasing departments to ensure compliance with all regulations and requirements.

  • Coordinate with Program Managers to assess task order completion and identify opportunities for growth and expansion within existing contracts.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience working with government or as a government contractor, demonstrating deep industry knowledge and expertise.

  • At least 10 years of experience working on GSA Programs, with a focus on Operations, Strategy, or Business Development.

  • An extensive network of relationships within government and industry, facilitating business development and strategic partnerships.

  • Proven experience in pursuing and capturing new federal business, showcasing a successful track record in business acquisition.

  • Ability to work effectively within high-performance teams in a matrix management environment, contributing to collective success.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, essential for building relationships and facilitating collaboration.

  • Strong organizational and problem resolution skills, necessary for managing complex projects and overcoming challenges.

  • Working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARs).

  • Extensive knowledge of federal contracting for professional services, RFP and Capture Management, and client management.

  • Ability to influence and persuade, making sound business decisions that align with organizational objectives.

  • This hybrid position requires that you live within commuting distance from Herndon, VA.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of specific contract vehicle terms and conditions, enhancing understanding and compliance.

  • Extensive experience managing IDIQs and GWACs.

  • 15 years of experience in Government Contracting with GSA.
