Description
We are seeking a Full Charge Bookkeeper to support a local family-owned business in the Cedar Rapids area. This role involves managing a wide range of accounting functions, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, month-end close, and payroll. This is a Monday - Friday position and could earn the right candidate a permanent opportunity with this organization!
Responsibilities:
• Conduct proficient use of Quickbooks for various accounting tasks and payroll processing
• Execute payroll duties for 15-20 employees weekly
• Handle all accounts payable and accounts receivable, and maintain the general ledger
• Closing the monthly and quarterly books
• Create and manage spreadsheets with data for reporting purposes
• Utilize Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office Suites, and Microsoft Outlook for various tasks
• Perform bank reconciliations, billing functions, and monthly financials
• Set up new accounts as part of the accounting functions
• Handle tax reporting duties.
Requirements
• Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Full Charge Bookkeeper role or similar
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office Suites, and Microsoft Outlook
• Extensive knowledge of accounting functions
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Proficient in conducting bank reconciliations
• Familiar with billing functions and in-house payroll
• Proficiency in QuickBooks is required
• Experience with month end close processes
• Knowledge of tax reporting procedures
• Ability to produce monthly financial reports
• Experience in account setup
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
