Automation Expert (Senior Staff – Non line Manager)

Job Description

■Basic Purpose of the Job

•Provide appropriate automation related services and solutions which fully comply with the latest GMP requirements (J-GMP and Boehringer Ingelheim Standard (Data integrity)) to support for the stable site operation

•Maintain automation system at the site in a good shape with effective and efficient ways

•Own the accountability for automation system throughout the lifecycle (Design, selection, install, qualifications, commercial operation and decommission)

•Implement design, system selection, installation and qualifications for building management system as an automation expert

•Support to design for process automation, and realize the desired process automation

•Contribute to Boehringer Ingelheim global network and implement strategic initiatives based on the given conditions

•Manage expense and resources within in the budget

•Support to the other groups to deliver the results as planned within timeline and budget

•Contribute to BPE, Kaizen and other strategic initiatives in HP(Human Pharma) Supply Japan

■Accountabilities

1.

Deliver the results as committed as the Group targets which are in line with the Department strategies and targets

•Develop master plan as a part of Dept. BSC which is aligned with the Site BSC after collecting necessary information

•Develop 5 years CapEx plan through interview with related Departments in the sites, and analyze required resources

•Secure resources to implement all activities and projects based on the master plan

Maintain BMS and other automation systems in a good condition

•Develop maintenance/calibration plans for the systems

•Implement maintenance / replacement(update) / newly installation as a part of lifecycle management (Master plan, CapEx plan)

•Provide appropriate solutions and services to minimize risk of interruption for commercial operation

3.

Provide support/expertise to design, selection, installation and qualifications for BMS and production equipment

•Support to develop design, URS for systems

•Provide information about the latest industry standard and Boehringer Ingelheim requirements

•Communicate with vendors/suppliers in proper way to realize routine jobs smoothly

•Support to qualifications, verifications for the systems with related functions / vendors

4.

Improve routine processes to increase process robustness and cost efficiency

•Collect the latest information, industry standards, new technologies for further improvement

•Challenge “status quo” and conduct analysis associated with the infrastructure

•Propose and implement better solutions

•Take measures as preventive solution

•Implement trouble shooting

    5.

Contribute to Boehringer Ingelheim Network sites and implement global initiatives

•Secure connectivity with Boehringer Ingelheim network

•Conduct benchmarking and share best practice among the network sites

•Implement global initiatives, and give feedback for further improvement

•Collect information within the network

6.

Support to the groups and GFE Dept. to achieve the Department goal

•Support to the Groups to achieve the goal

•Develop Departmental BSC with related managers

•Report the progress/concern/issue to the head of the Department

•Demonstrate AAI behaviours by example

Experience

•Experiences for Facility management: >= 5 years

•Experiences for GMP related tasks : >= 5years

•Experiences for Engineering: >= 5 years

•Project management: >= 10 projects

•Experiences for CapEx and Expense management: >= 5 years

■Special Skills

Knowledge

•High level of expertise for building management system

•Knowledge about production equipment & processes

•Well understanding of regulations (GMP, related Acts and Law, etc.)

•Project management and negotiation skill

•High level of expertise for Engineering topics

Qualifications

•Bachelor’s Degree or above (any major), or experience and knowledge described above.

•Major of Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Civil)/IT

•Business level of English
