Job Overview
The Supply Chain Specialist will facilitate supply chain activities and provide ERP system support.
Job Responsibilities
- Monitor all GLC facilities on issues relating to inventory flow in and out of the facilities.
- Manage inventory levels for finished goods in all facilities to ensure optimum service levels.
- Monitor aging inventory, perform root cause analysis, corrective and preventative action, and work with the Sales and Manufacturing to disposition aging inventory.
- Coordinate expedite order requests and short lead order changes by working with manufacturing, warehouse and transportation to ensure optimal service and efficient supply.
- Coordinate inventory allocation and work with appropriate parties regarding inventory availability.
- Monitor case fill rates and perform root-cause analysis taking corrective and preventative action on shortages.
- Manage inventory levels around new business startups and discontinuations.
- Work with manufacturing at all locations on supply issues.
- Work with procurement departments on material sourcing strategies.
- Support, uphold and monitor company policies and procedures as they pertain to sales, distribution and logistics.
- Travel as needed for projects, training and/or onsite support.

- Other duties as assigned by the manager.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree with business emphasis or 4 years of business experience.
- 2 years of supply chain experience or more.
- In-depth understanding of Supply Chain processes and related issues.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel.
- Data mining experience.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Ability to make sound, independent decisions based on functional expertise and experience.
- Ability to administer a proactive approach.
- Ability to provide leadership, support, communication and direction to personnel relating to supply chain issues.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot and problem solve.
Preferred Education and Experience
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting.
Occasional exposure to industrial operations including: temperature extremes from approximately 35F to 100F; noise levels in excess of 85 dB; moisture and moving machinery.
