RESPONSIBILITY OUTLINE
Job Title EIC Technician I-Sr
Department Generation Maintenance Pay Status Hourly
Reports To EIC Technician Supervisor FLSA Category Nonexempt

SUMMARY
Perform highly skilled technical work in generation facilities including
the maintenance
and repair of generation equipment and plant ancillary equipment.
Install, troubleshoot,
calibrate, maintain, test, tune, and repair complex electronic,
electro-mechanical,
pneumatic equipment, recorders, and programmable logic controllers.
Essential Responsibilities
Placement in the position will be based upon the level of competencies
possessed.
Electrical
Work independently or assist others diagnosing electrical control
circuit problems;
interpreting manufacturer schematics and instructions; and making
necessary
corrections to breakers, switches, and electrical switchgear.
Submit Document Change Requests (DCRs) following the Sunflower procedure
as
appropriate.
Perform preventive maintenance on both alternating current (AC) and
direct current
(DC) low (less than 600 volts) and medium (greater than 600 volts)
voltage electrical
circuit breakers, electrical motors, and generators.
Assist with thermographic scanning of electrical circuits, switchgear,
and electrical
rotating equipment, including the development of status reports.
Install switches, receptacles, indicators, alarms, process indication
and control devices,
conduit, and wiring according to prints and specifications.
Assist with projects, including the running of conduit, sizing of
conductors, and
interpreting the National Electric Code (NEC).
Instrument and Control
Work independently or assist others diagnosing instrument /control
related problems,
interpreting manufacturer drawings, instructions, and loop sheets.
Perform instrument
calibrations, adjusting control loops, and troubleshooting and repairing
programmable
logic controllers (PLCs) distributed control systems (DCSs) and Variable
Frequency
drives (VFDs).
Submit DCRs following the Sunflower procedure as appropriate.
Assist with programming complex Computer Control systems including, but
not limited
to, PLCs, DCSs, and VFDs.

Maintain and install material weigh systems and scales.
Maintain install pressure, level, flow, temperature, and motion
instrumentation such as
transmitters, gauges, switches, resistance temperature detectors (RTDs),
thermocouples, resolvers, speed switches, and tachometers.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
Two year post high school technical certification in industrial electric
or instrument and
controls and four years progressively responsible industrial electric or
instrument and
controls experience, or equivalent combination of education and
experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Able to plan or assist in planning, scheduling, arranging, and preparing
job duties.
Possess good troubleshooting and repair skills.
Able to interpret and understand electrical control diagrams and
instrument loop sheets.
Proficiency in reading, designing, and interpreting ladder logic,
Boolean logic, process
flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P & IDs), instrument
loop
diagrams, electrical one-line, elementary, and schematic diagrams.
