Job Title: Automation Project ManagerJob Description
We are seeking an experienced Automation Project Manager for a 6-month contract-to-hire position. This role involves overseeing and managing the team’s projects, ensuring progress, and maintaining effective customer communication. The ideal candidate will have held a similar position in the automation or industrial environment for the past 5+ years.
Responsibilities
Lead project planning, execution, and completion.
Create and manage project schedules using Gantt charts.
Manage resources and make adjustments to meet project goals and deadlines.
Collaborate with engineering, assembly, and sales teams to ensure smooth transitions between project phases.
Facilitate regular project reviews and ensure transparent communication between internal teams and customers.
Oversee project budgets, track expenses, and meet financial targets.
Mitigate risks and address challenges proactively throughout the project lifecycle.
Coordinate Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and site visits to ensure installations meet safety and quality standards.
Implement safety regulations including NEC, NFPA, and OSHA.
Essential Skills
BSEE in engineering, project management, or a technical field.
5+ years of project management experience in automation or industrial environments.
Strong customer interface and communication skills.
Experience managing multiple projects, teams, and customers simultaneously.
PMP certification.
Willingness to travel to client sites as needed (10% travel).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to perform controls-related tasks such as PLC programming, robotics, and electrical design.
Experience managing large capital projects.
Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
