Job Title: Production Lead (Controls Technician)Job Description
As the Production Lead (Controls Technician), you will be responsible for leading and managing multiple install projects, shop operations, and outside contractors/vendors. While you won't manage direct employees, you will oversee vendor partnerships, including panel build shops and machine shops. You must be comfortable working independently, taking the lead on communication with customers and vendors, and handling documentation and organization tasks. You will also need to work under pressure to complete system updates within tight windows of time at customer sites.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage multiple install projects and vendor partnerships.
Communicate effectively with customers and vendors.
Complete system updates at customer sites within tight timeframes.
Troubleshoot and edit PLCs in Allen Bradley PLC systems.
Integrate systems and log into OPC servers to remote data on Windows platforms.
Read, edit, and create schematics in AutoCAD electrical platform.
Diagnose and troubleshoot low voltage system issues.
Operate soldering equipment, power tools, and fault-testing devices.
Essential Skills
5-10 years of experience in controls engineering.
Proficiency in PLC communication protocols and ladder logic programming in Allen Bradley PLC systems.
Ability to create and interpret electrical schematics in AutoCAD electrical.
Strong knowledge and experience with low voltage systems.
Basic computer knowledge and ability to navigate Windows systems.
Customer interface skills for effective organization and communication.
Proficiency in OPC configuration (KepWareEX) systems for integration.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Degree or community college classes, associates.
Strong personality, communication, and organizational skills.
Flexibility to work a few Saturdays if needed.
Ability to travel with structured timeframes, mostly within the US, with occasional international travel.
Work Environment
You will work in a new, updated office space with a smaller, family-style company that offers unique business opportunities. The typical workweek is 40-45 hours, aside from travel time, with remote flexibility if needed. Good benefits are provided, and you will receive a company credit card for all travel expenses. Expect to travel up to 20%, usually for 3 days at a time, with 3-4 days' notice.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $37.50 - $45.00/hr.
