Queen's Health System Sterile Processing Aide II (Call-in, Varied Shifts) in Honolulu, Hawaii

RESPONSIBILITIES

I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES

Collects used instruments and equipment from various areas throughout the Medical Center and disposes of trash, linen, and waste in Sterile Processing. Performs duties in accordance with Medical Center and departmental policies, procedures and guidelines.

II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS -

Essential: standing, stooping/bending, walking, twisting body, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking, lifting up to 25 pounds, pushing/pulling usual weight of 100 pounds up to 200 pounds and carrying usual weight of 25 pounds. Occasional: sitting, kneeling, crawling, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, squatting, reaching above, at and below shoulder level. Operates cart, washer, air gun, computer, steam gun and cart lift.

III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

Exposed to extreme heat and cold, may become hot while wearing protective equipment. Subjected to noise/vibration from machines. Some exposure to fumes and gas sterilizer.

IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A. Education/Certification and Licensure:

1.Ability to speak, read, write and understand English both orally and in writing.

B. Experience:

1.Prior hospital experience preferred.

C. Physical Requirement:

1.Must be physically able to lift trash and linen and to push linen and trash carts.
