About the role:

The Accounts Payable Supervisor, USA is a key member of the US finance organization supporting all ALS businesses in the US. He/She will be responsible for planning, directing, supervising, and monitoring the systems, processes, and activities of the Accounts Payable department to ensure smooth transaction processing, optimize employee productivity, and contribute to maximizing profitability and cash flows of the ALS USA Group. In addition, this role is responsible for continuous improvement across the procure to pay the process, as well as supporting the Oracle roll out to recently acquired companies.

  • Plan, evaluate, implement and continuously improve all aspects of the procure to pay process.

  • Management of the Accounts Payable team, including troubleshooting and dashboard (KPI) review.

  • Ensure professional relationships are established and maintained with suppliers/vendors and internal stakeholders.

  • Daily review of Oracle invoice holds and management of hold resolution.

  • Management of the weekly payment proposals.

  • AP processing for select vendors.

  • Direct interaction with suppliers in resolving operational holds, delinquencies/ delays and urgent payment requests to avoid service interruptions.

  • implementation of all accounts payable process controls required by the group, including but not limited to full application of authorization matrix and segregation of duties.

  • Drive IDR usage and / or manage transition to new OCR tool.

  • Train new team members as needed.

  • Serve as back up for team for PTO/vacation.

  • Support special projects (i.e. Oracle AP enhancements, Invoice amortization processing, implementation of new OCR tool).

  • Support new acquisitions’ transition to Oracle including data validation, testing, change-management, training and issue resolution.

  • Manage information requests during external, internal, and tax audits.

  • Manage 1099 process.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

About you:

  • Solid knowledge of accounting policies, procedures, and controls.

  • Strong analytical skills, critical thinking, and keen attention to detail.

  • Strong systems skills, including the understanding of how systems can be leveraged to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of our processes and overall performance.

  • The ability to build and foster relationships across the organization.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills, as well as negotiation skills.

  • Experience in leading a team and implementing process improvements.

  • Must enjoy working in a fast-paced, large organization and thrive under pressure.

  • Ability to work independently with little supervision, provide timely and clear communication, and lead with accountability for results.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or other related areas.

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, with a Minimum of five years of practical experience in accounts payable, general accounting, and account reconciliations.

  • Practical experience with Oracle and OCR/IDR tools.

Physical Demands:

  • Able to speak and hear clearly while communicating with staff, management, and clients.

  • Able to sit, and /or stand for 100% of an 8 hour day.

  • Dexterity in hands and fingers to operate computer and other equipment.

  • Must have average vision and able to see to read reports and operate equipment.
