Description
We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Receivable Specialist in Houston, Texas. The candidate will be joining our service industry team and will be responsible for a wide range of duties, from processing customer credit applications to maintaining accurate billing documentation. This role plays a critical part in our organization's financial health and requires a high level of organization and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
Recording and Processing Invoices: A time and material billing clerk is responsible for recording, processing, and issuing bills for the time and material used in a project, under strict timelines and according to the accuracy standards and protocols implemented by the company.
Maintaining Records: They have to keep, maintain, and update records of all bills, transactions, accounting data, and tax returns related to time and material usage in a safe and secure manner using specialized software systems.
Calculation and Verification: It's their duty to calculate and verify the costs, time, and resources that were used up during each particular project phase or task. They must match these transactions with the company's financial records to ensure accuracy.
Reimbursements and Payments: It's within their remit to handle all financial transactions related to the reimbursement for the utilization of resources and time in accomplishing tasks, and to facilitate payments when required.
Customer Service: They are expected to resolve any billing issues, queries, or disputes raised by the company's clients regarding their time and material bills, with a commitment to high quality customer service.
Compliance: They must adhere strictly to financial laws and regulations. This includes maintaining accurate record-keeping practices and maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of financial data.
Collaboration: They should be adept at collaborating with other finance team members and staff from different departments to ensure correct billing procedures.
Reporting: They are expected to generate detailed reports about time and material billing for financial analyses and audits. They also need to provide these reports to the senior management whenever needed.
Updating Financial Software: They are also responsible for updating the financial software with details of each bill and transaction, ensuring that the centralized database has correct, up-to-date information.
Administrative Duties: Additional administrative tasks like responding to emails, answering phone calls, attending meetings, and performing other financial tasks may also be part of their job duties.
