Quiddity Construction Manager Land Development in Houston, Texas

  • Manage construction implementation process for land development and drainage projects from start to final closeout.

  • Periodically observe construction work in-progress at job sites.

  • knowledge of contracts, schedules, drawings, estimates and specifications to ensure relation and compliance to project requirements.

  • Obtain, maintain, and manage data, information, communications, and approvals required by the project and company between engineers, owner’s contractors/subcontractors, or other project related entities.

  • Coordinate, direct and monitor the activities of contractors/subcontractors, engineers, and related performing entities.

  • Manage project controls, cost, and performance activities and procedures.

  • Lead in project meetings to include documentation, administration and tracking of relevant information and statuses.

  • Manage construction to ensure the project is in accordance with the design, budget and schedule. Includes interfacing with client representatives, engineers, vendors, subcontractors, governmental representatives, etc.

  • Maintain official project log and documentation files.

  • Provide direction on planning, CPM scheduling, and engineering functions as required.

  • Responsible for obtaining signatures for contracts, processing pay estimates and change orders, coordinating inspections and pre-construction meetings.

  • Coordinate with appropriate City or County entities for acceptance of constructed facilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.

  • Professional Engineer license is a plus.

  • 4 years’ experience with construction means and methods for land development projects.

  • Must possess some familiarity with construction estimating, cost, project controls, CPM scheduling, documentation, engineering and construction principles, techniques, materials applications and practices.

  • Experience with land development design is a plus.

  • Proximity to Texas City would be ideal but not required.

  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft products, and experience with project related systems such as Procore, Microsoft Project.

  • The ability to apply experience in areas of accounting, cost control, administrative and personnel interaction in a professional environment.

  • Capable of building and maintaining relationships with clients, contractors, government representatives and others.

  • Successful candidates will apply good organizational skills and take charge of overall coordination between multiple contractors within master plan land development communities.
