Position Description:

This position will be responsible for the monthly financial reporting analysis, forecasting, and annual budget preparation for the Kinder Morgan Land/Right of Way (ROW) department, which is responsible for all land activities across KM’s 4 business units.

Responsibilities Include :

Preparing accurate and timely financial reports (O&M and Capex) for all business units including analysis and variance explanations.

Collaborating with Lease Analysts and ROW Field Agents to understand and analyze the impact to monthly and annual forecasts.

Preparing the detailed forecast support and entering into KMBF, KMBS, Teams, etc. and be available to answer any questions from the business unit leadership.

Preparing the annual budgets, analysis, and presentations

Preparing the Long-Range Outlook – 5 year plan

Reviewing ROW Rental/Renewal costs for compliance with regulatory, company/department guidelines, processes, and procedures. Examples include proper classification of costs in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and/or federal energy regulatory commission (FERC) where applicable.

Creating/updating AFE/PRN write-ups (as assigned) including monitoring through review and approval process.

Reporting and analyzing significant cost variances, trends, and irregularities to document primary driver(s) for ROW Rental/Renewal/Bonds costs, as well as ROW Capital costs.

Researching, calculating and helping to ensure accurate accruals to include maintaining adequate documentation, where required.

Developing ancillary and ad-hoc reports, as needed to generate OSG KPI reports and support project related data requests for participation in periodic cost review meetings with various members of the OSG PM management team and and/or their leadership.

Participating in management led budget and forecast meetings, as required.

Participating in and completing occasional special projects as assigned.

Participate in cross training of ROW Finance responsibilities for backup coverage.

Must have strong analytical, problem solving, research & reconciliation skills needed to resolve unknown or unforeseen events

Position Requirements

Preferred Experience, Skills and Knowledge:

Experience with Lawson financial systems

Experience in Land/Right of Way, in house operating company experience a plus

Advanced Excel skill set

Position Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or Engineering, preferred.

5+ years of Financial Analysis / Planning / Accounting experience

Excellent oral / written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels in the organization

High degree of initiative and ability to perform responsibilities with minimal supervision

Effectively communicate results of any analysis in an accurate, clear and concise manner

Job level will be commensurate with experience and skill-set.
