Robert Half Manager Financial Reporting in Houston, Texas


Growing O& G company in Houston is looking for a Financial Reporting Manager. As the Financial Reporting Manger you will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, essential for informed decision-making and regulatory compliance. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and strong leadership skills.

Financial Reporting Manager Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations.

  • Develop and maintain footnotes and Management's Discussion and Analysis (MD& A) disclosures to accompany financial statements.

  • Oversee the technical accounting aspects of financial reporting, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and policies.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary financial information and disclosures for reporting purposes.

  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and emerging accounting standards relevant to the O& G industry.

  • Assist in the preparation of ad hoc financial reports and analyses as required by management or external stakeholders.

  • Support the annual external audit process, including coordinating audit requests and addressing auditor inquiries.

  • Act as a liaison between the finance department and other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and alignment with organizational objectives.


Financial Reporting Manager Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required.

  • Minimum of 6+ years of experience in financial reporting, with exposure to the Oil & Gas industry preferred.

  • Strong understanding of GAAP, SEC regulations, and financial reporting requirements.

  • Experience with technical accounting issues, including revenue recognition, leases, and hedging preferred.

  • Familiarity with financial reporting software, such as OneStream or ActiveDisclosure, is highly desirable.

  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
