Responsibilities
This Position will be working on IMCU/PCU units.
Assesses, plans, and implements nursing care while ensuring patient comfort.
Anticipates, identifies, and responds to informational and emotional needs of patients and families.
Guides and directs healthcare personnel (i.e., Patient Care Technicians) in caring for patients.
Maintains knowledge of equipment setup, maintenance, and use (i.e., IV pumps, monitoring equipment, and drainage devices) Utilizes safeguards such as IV pump drug library and monitor alarms with necessary.
Initiates emergency support measures (i.e., cardiopulmonary resuscitation, protecting patient from injury).
Assists with patient care duties/tasks (i.e., emptying drainage devices, ambulating, and hygiene).

Eligible for special pay in addition to base pay (shift differential, overtime, extra shift, etc.)
Full-Time positions
Days, nights, and weekend shifts are available
13-week assignments (may be extended based on business need)
Common diagnosis seen on the units are:
Pulmonary HTN with prostacyclin medication infusions
Sepsis not requiring pressors
Hyperglycemic emergencies
Respiratory failure - high flow and bipap
Antihypertensive medications for HTN crisis
Volume overload requiring diuresis or dialysis
a bonus is familiarity with post op transplant patients but not required

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
At least 2 years of RN experience in Telemetry/Progressive Care (PCU) units:
BLS certification from an AHA certified vendor
ACLS certification through an AHA certified vendor
Must be competent with:
Preferred:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Pay Range
$25.00 - $81.25 /hour
