Cimarron is seeking a
Mission and Fault Management Integration Engineerto support the Mars Ascent Vehicle Integrated System (MAVIS) program in Huntsville, AL. MAVIS is a critical part of NASAs Mars Sample Return campaign, designed to launch collected Martian samples back to Earth.
This position supports a 9/80 work schedule, providing every other Friday off.
The current MAVIS program effort is funded through the Preliminary Design Review (PDR), scheduled for June 2025. While future phases are contingent, the anticipated pathunder a typical scenarioincludes progression to the Critical Design Review (CDR) in 2026, followed by manufacturing, integration, and test activities in 2027 and beyond.
Key Duties:
- Develop Integrated System-Level FMEA, FMECA, Fault Trees, Goal Trees, and related analyses using classical and model-based systems engineering approaches.
- Create and maintain the Fault Protection Design Document (FPDD).
- Develop and manage the Monitored Condition List to support fault detection and system health monitoring.

Required/Desired Skills, Experience, and Education

Required Skills, Experience, and Education:
- Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
- 5 or more years of related experience.
- Experience with Vehicle Health Management and Fault Detection, Isolation, and Recovery (FDIR) systems.
- Knowledge of avionics systems and flight software integration.
- Proficiency in performing FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis), FMECA (Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis), and FTA (Fault Tree Analysis).
- Bachelor's degree.
Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:
- Ability to read SysML.
- Ability to interact with MBSE products, such as Cameo, Magic Draw, or Rhapsody.
