Eaton Corporation Production Supervisor in Houston, Texas

Eaton’s Global Energy Infrastructure Solutions (GEIS) division is currently seeking a Production Supervisor to join the team at the Houston, TX manufacturing site.

Eaton's Crouse-Hinds Business manufactures over 100,000 products for NEC and IEC applications, including: conduit fittings and cable glands, industrial control and electrical apparatus, enclosures, industrial luminaires (including LED), plugs and receptacles, drilling and marine products, commercial construction, and solar solutions. The Houston, TX site is the home of a variety of family products all explosion-proof, with a focus on LED lighting fixtures and control panels. With 50 employees onsite, this plant is an excellent stepping stone into the organization, as it places a high value on talented professionals who are focused on problem solving and efficiency and looking to grow within the plant and Eaton as a whole.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $80250.03 - $117700.04 a year.

What you’ll do:

You will manage all aspects – Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, Employee Engagement, Continuous Improvement – of manufacturing within assigned area to produce high quality products to serve our customers.

You will collaborate other functions such as HR, EHS, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and OpEX to ensure operational success. A continuous improvement tools and methods skillset will be key to sustaining and improving efforts to eliminate waste. In this position, you will be accountable for the supervision of the production team through servant leadership. Day to day activities include:

  • Safety – Actively foster a safe and healthy work environment. Promote and support safe work practices through company safety programs. Reinforce behaviors to report, root cause analyze, and improve from all safety incidents. Demonstrate commitment to Environment, Health and Safety by setting the example to the department.

  • Eaton Systems – Foster a culture of continuous improvement and be relentless in driving towards becoming a lean organization to eliminate waste. Quickly master appropriate Eaton Lean System tools and CI tools and implement them in daily / weekly / monthly standard work. Be accountable to uphold our Ethics policy and quality mindset of “I own Quality.”

  • Lead Department Team – Direct operations within the assigned manufacturing process. Responsible for key performance measures relevant to EHS, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, Cost, and Earned Hours goal within department. Manage maintenance of department equipment and facilities. Manage team performance through various motivational strategies such as performance recognition, coaching, development, discipline as appropriate. Adhere to the policies and resolve team member concerns and issues. Actively engage with team members with the goal of achieving a motivated, empowered, and high-performance team. Assure that policies and procedures are followed to ensure consistency and compliance.

  • Delivery – Measure, communicate and improve group performance statistics and act as an agent to drive recovery and improvement activities that meet or exceed established goals. Partner with supply chain team to ensure raw material shortages are proactively addressed to support projected build requirements.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in a leadership role in a manufacturing, distribution or operations environment

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the Houston, TX facility will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or Industrial Technology, or Business from an accredited institution

  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role in a manufacturing, distribution or operations environment preferred.

  • SAP business system experience

  • Experience in Electrical product manufacturing/assembly, machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, powder coat.
