Sysco Project Manager - Maintenance in HOUSTON, Texas

JOB SUMMARY

Through consultation with the SSMG VP of Continuous Improvement and Sysco Corporate Construction & Engineering Teams, the Corporate Project Manager identifies the key actions necessary for delivering national, regional, and site level development and execution of key projects related to operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • In partnership with all National and Region Team Leaders, lead with a strong customer-centric and associate- focused mindset to drive development and execution of projects.

  • Working with vendors and/or general contractors to assure projects are following Local, State and Federal laws and regulations.

  • Drive continuous improvement through automation and plant flow.

  • Work to develop, plan, and execute capital projects and monitor return on investment

  • Utilize Industry best practices, methods, and standards to execute projects

  • Make safety a top priority in each project. Help reduce or eliminate operations-related injuries or accidents and assist EHS Director with training initiatives on all projects, including new equipment

  • Drive a culture of compliance with internal/external policies and regulations by ensuring all required inspections and audits are completed on time, accurately and with all necessary detail

  • Strategically adjust department activities, policies, and practices to meet or exceed key performance metrics and customer satisfaction goals.

  • Oversee budget management including labor, benefits, supplies, company assets, capital investments, depreciation and maintenance and repair.

  • Company meetings and any other market activities to foster the company’s recognition within the business community.

  • Collaborate with national and local vendors to establish working relationships, assigning task, and expected project deliverables

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or a relevant field preferred

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years in food production, manufacturing, and distribution design

  • Demonstrable experience in driving operational efficiencies and production thruput through site layout and planning

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Lean Six Sigma

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, Access, and Outlook

  • Ability to read and understand AutoCAD drawings

  • Transformation experience

  • Project Management Experience

  • Deep experience with manufacturing or production processes to include continuous improvement tools.

  • Able to read and understand vendor quotes.
