Job Overview:

The Senior Principal Technology Spec (IT) is tasked with solving unique and complex problems that broadly impact the business. They must proactively identify and solve the most complex problems that impact the management and direction of the business. The Senior Principal Technology Spec (IT) is considered a specialist in the field of Technology, and they offer a broad base of knowledge about the Information Technology function. The Senior Principal Technology Spec (IT) impacts the direction and resource allocation of programs and projects in their discipline and works within general functional policies and industry guidelines. The Senior Principal Technology Spec (IT) role requires conceptual and innovative thinking to develop creative solutions to Technology challenges.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Partner with business associates as a Network expert to lead and contribute to large-scale multi-phase programs to enable the company’s enterprise network capabilities.

  • Engage and collaborate across network deployment and operations teams to successfully implement solutions and transition to operations.

  • Design, install, and maintain network equipment connectivity and support infrastructure.

  • Effectively communicate to multiple levels of the organization including SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) and Principal Technologists.

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, Management Information Systems or related field or equivalent work experience Prefer relevant strategic business process certifications (APICS, Finance, ITIL, CISSP, CCNA, PMP, Agile, Lean Six Sigma)

  • Experience leading a global team

  • 8+ years of work experience; Work experience can be waived with higher than minimum Degree requirement met Industry-recognized Certifications i.e., CCDP, CCNA, CCNP

  • Expertise in LAN/WAN core connectivity technologies including:

  • Cisco IOS/Nexus Switches (3850, 9300, 4500X, 9K, 3K)

  • Cisco Wireless Controllers and APs

  • Cisco Routers (4000s, ASRs)

  • Aruba Wireless Controllers and APs

  • Palo Alto Firewalls

  • Riverbed WAN Optimization

  • Proficiency in routing and switching protocols

  • Experience in using network monitoring tools, such as SolarWinds and NetFlow

  • Experience in troubleshooting infrastructure, application, and connectivity issues

  • Must have excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills

  • Must be able to successfully work on multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines in a results-oriented environment

  • Ability to think creatively and come up with solutions quickly in critical environments

  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment

  • Leverages communication and collaboration to solve problems with global peers across various functions

  • Possess strong verbal & written communication skills in English, with demonstrated experience in effectively speaking to all levels of the organization

  • Strong business acumen & successful track record in aligning diverse groups and opinions

  • Strong background in IT solutions and implementation
