Description
We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the oilfield services industry, based in North Houston, Texas. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for general ledger entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting. The position is fully onsite Monday-Friday.
Responsibilities:
· Perform accounting functions in the areas of general ledger entries and reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, accounts receivable, and intercompany accounting.
· Prepare management, regional and corporate financial statements using NetSuite, Excel templates, and Hyperion Financial Management consolidation tools.
· Create documents for external audit review and respond to inquiries.
· Assist with preparation of reports and schedules for tax preparation and transfer pricing reports.
· Recommend, design, and implement process improvements.
· Contribute to documentation of policies and procedures.
Requirements
Educational
· A bachelor’s degree in accounting, or equivalent major required.
Work Experience
· Minimum 5 years of proven accounting experience with general ledger functions, period close process, and financial reporting preparation and analysis.
· In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Technical Skills
· Computer skills – Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
· Intermediate Excel skills including VLOOKUP's, Pivot Tables, and nested formulas.
· NetSuite and Hyperion Financial Management experience a plus.
