Job Description

The purpose of this job is to manage, optimize and execute all marine related operations for Pilot Energy.

Essential Functions

  1. Nominate, schedule, and execute marine shipments of Refined Products and Renewable Fuels

  2. Provide marine operations subject matter expertise to other functional teams - including Trading, Settlements, Credit and Trade Finance.

  3. Consult on the structuring of marine-based trading activity.

  4. Oversee product quantity and quality control for all marine shipments and vetting of all documents for accuracy and completion.

  5. Drive negotiation and relationship management with ship owners, ship brokers, ship charterers, terminals, and inspection companies

  6. Collaborate with contracts group to review marine contract General Terms and Conditions

  7. Engage and work with customs brokers to ensure accurate and timely import and export filings.

  8. Provide thought leadership in the optimization of marine-related business processes, controls and system configuration.

  9. Review and approve counterparty invoices related to marine shipments.

  10. Participate in special projects identified by manager, operations team, and traders.

  11. Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level.

  12. Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

  13. Complete other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in maritime studies, supply chain management or relevant field required.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience scheduling and executing marine operations for refined products and renewable fuels required.

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a trading environment handling logistics and transportation preferred.

Specialized Knowledge

  • Advanced knowledge of international Marine Tanker operations, laboratory inspection procedures and shore terminal logistics.

  • Energy Operations lifecycle via various modes of transportation

  • Product specifications for Refined Products and Renewable Fuels

  • Advanced knowledge of Incoterms 2010 and 2020

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills required; Advanced skills preferred.

  • Right Angle experience preferred.
