Summary:

As a Technical Specialist, Severe Service, Americas you are responsible for the provision of technical product and application support for regional sales teams in pursuing opportunities for growth for the FCD severe service product portfolio comprising:

  • Argus ball valves, metal seated floating & trunnion ball valves.

  • Valtek severe service control valves

  • Durco severe service plug valves and high-performance butterfly valves

  • Atomac lined ball and butterfly valves.

  • Edwards severe service gate, globe, and check valves

  • Limitorque electric and pneumatic actuation

You will develop customer awareness and acceptance of the Flowserve severe service products with key contacts at the management, procurement, engineering, and operations levels. The primary focus will be on MRO opportunities, including replacement of competitor valves, service, and repair. Brownfield and greenfield project opportunities are included within the job scope.

You shall develop relationships with technology licensors, provide market intelligence and trends with a specific focus on applications and products designed for severe service conditions. You will develop a keen understanding of Flowserve operations to enhance selling effectiveness and collaborate with other internal and 3rd party selling channel partners, ensuring solutions are tailored to challenging environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the introduction of new products.

  • Assist regional sales teams in crafting and executing account strategies for key clients.

  • Drive awareness of products and applications.

  • Provide commercial support through market intelligence.

  • Coordinate with engineering resources as needed.

  • Develop effective product diversification strategies.

  • Work closely with end users and project sales teams to ensure successful outcomes.

  • Collaborate with global product leadership to align with customer expectations.

  • Exceed customer expectations by resolving commercial and technical issues.

  • Foster strong, trusting relationships with customers through close collaboration with sales.

  • Collaborate with product engineering on engineered-to-order (ETO) and complex design solutions for application challenges.

  • Work with level 2 field engineering to solve plant-level problems.

  • Actively utilize the company's Customer Relationship Management system (FlowForce) to update account plans and opportunities.

  • Identify and escalate events that could harm customer relationships or future business opportunities.

Requirements:

  • BS or BA Degree in a relevant field (Engineering or Business Administration) and 8–10 years of relevant experience.

  • Broad based refinery, petrochemical industry / severe service applications experience and knowledge.

  • Technical product knowledge relative to severe service ball and control valves.

  • Capable of creating a positive customer-centric experience.

  • Able to create spreadsheets, presentations slide decks etc. using common computer software.

  • Strong collaboration skills.

  • Analytical approach to problem-solving.

  • Broad knowledge of industry standard pertaining to the Flowserve product portfolio.

  • Ability to work efficiently and communicate productively with key customers at the management, engineering, procurement, and operations levels.

  • Ability to work across all business groups and levels with Flowserve.

  • Strategic thinking, resourcefulness, and planning, coupled with a drive to always succeed.

  • Must be a self-starter and provide the necessary structure, organization, planning, and effort to accomplish the business objectives.

  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, primarily within the USA and Canada.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

  • Project management experience is a plus.
