KBR is looking for a Project Cost Control Specialist (PCCS) to join our team for an exciting opportunity supporting the USAID NexGen Global Health Supply Chain Program. This is a full-time position that will accommodate a hybrid remote/office work schedule, but will require occasional travel to the Washington, D.C. area and potential overseas travel. The PCCS will work for the Business Manager, and under the direct supervision of the Lead Project Cost Control Specialist and serves as a key member of the cost control management team. Must be a highly organized self-starter capable of working in a fast-paced, multi-discipline team environment with the ability to manage competing priorities to achieve goals.
Reviews project costs incurred by category, calculates future costs based on labor productivity, material price increases, subcontract, wage rates and risk analysis. Under general supervision, and occasional direct supervision, performs assignments requiring experience and knowledge of standard concepts within project controls. Displays core competencies by analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures while developing advanced skills.
Manage workload for multiple sites across customer base
Track Government funding provided by USAID
Manage man-hour reports, materials, ODCs, and travel expenses to ensure that funding is managed accurately and appropriately
Forecasts, controls, and reports project costs needed within an organization
Develops and provides project variances, trending and analysis of expenditures, and completion reports
Reviews project costs incurred by category, calculates future costs based on labor productivity, material price increases, subcontract, wage rates and risk analysis
Prepare project cost & performance reports for workhours, budgets, commitments, expenditures, and actuals
Manage the cost controls for client projects
Track revenue, monitor direct and indirect expenses, calculate profit, establish burn-rates, and to provide ideas/solutions to PM’s and Project Leads. Advise Contracts when to submit Limitation of Funds letters. Develop and maintain Estimates to Complete (EAC’s) across various projects
Provide forecasting guidance and projects for assigned projects
Actively interfaces with both KBR and client personnel
Perform data management tasks using Deltek/Costpoint, Microsoft Excel, and Access
Prepare monthly cost reports
Prepare monthly subcontract analysis, accruals, and process subcontractor invoices for payment.
Ensures compliance with internal policies and procedures, as well as FAR, SOX, CAS and other government regulations.
Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (Finance, Business Management, Engineering or similar)
5+ years of experience in Project Controls.
Proficiency in project finance assessments, cost analysis, forecasting, budget development, scheduling, and variance reporting techniques.
Advanced skills with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
Preferred proficiency in Deltek/Costpoint, IFS and Cobra
Must be able to self-lead and communicate effectively to all levels of project team, including management and clients.
Excellent communication skills and ability to function within a project team
Prior experience working on USAID contracts preferred
