The Assistant Fabrication Superintendent is responsible to advance the safety of our craft team members, raise the quality of our products, increase the productivity of our craft and equipment, develop craft employee engagement with the goal of increased employee retention, and recover the reliability of our equipment at the direction of the Fabrication Superintendent.

    Education/Training - Work Experience

    HS Diploma or equivalent. Five (5) years as a structural steel shop fabrication foreman. An advanced degree or training in a related discipline may substitute for two (2) years of experience.

    Demonstrated Knowledge

  • An individual must have a progressing knowledge in the areas of :

  • AWS & AISC standards and codes

  • AWS structural and seismic codes, ASCE, and AISC standards and codes

  • Production/material specifications related to the fabrication and erection of structural steel

  • Coordination of work/ship schedules; generate and comprehend functional statistical data.

  • Budget planning/forecasting

  • Capital expenditure planning

  • Workforce planning

  • Continuous improvement methodologies

    Software & Technology

    Position will require the frequent use of MS Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and Blue Beam PDF Software. Working knowledge of production control software preferred.

    Work Environment Position may require air/road travel as needed and required. A clean driving record will be required due to required road travel. Current and valid drivers license and proof of acceptable insurance is required. This position is generally outdoors in an open bay work area.
