Worker must possess the physical strength and endurance (ability to
continue or last) to repeat the harvest process though out the workday,
working quickly and skillfully to perform activities assigned during
that activity. Workers must work at a sustained (continuing for an
extended period of time without interruption), vigorous pace (quick and
steady) and make bona fide efforts (made in earnest intent) to work
efficiently (performing or functions in the best possible manner with
the least waste of time and effort) and consistently (same way for a
long time) that are reasonable under the climatic and other working
conditions, Workers may not leave trash, or other discarded items in
work areas or vehicles but must dispose of such items in provided
receptacles. Workers must wash hands with soap and water after all
bathroom and meal breaks. Allergies to varieties of ragweed, goldenrod,
insecticides, related agricultural chemicals, etc., may affect workers
ability to perform the work described herein. Sanitation Requirements:
For food and general personal safety purposes, all workers will always
be required and expected to follow common sanitary practices. This is
particularly critical when hand harvesting crops for human consumption.
Employees are required to cleanse their hands by washing them thoroughly
with soap and water after using the bathroom and before entering the
fields for harvest activities or the packing facility for packing
operations. Workers will prepare fields for planting, plant, cultivate,
harvest and pack crops named in this job order. Workers may be
responsible for preparation of field beds, assisting in installation of
drip irrigation, irrigation pipe, and black plastic mulch. Duties will
include working in a greenhouse. Crops: Flowers, Strawberries, Green
Beans, Peppers, Zucchini, Summer Squash, Asparagus, Cucumbers, Eggplant,
Tomatoes, Sweet Corn, Melons, Pumpkins, Fall Squash, and Gourds. Workers
will drive tractors to prepare ground, seed and cultivate flowers,
vegetables, and strawberries. Workers will set up irrigation systems for
the above-mentioned crops and maintain them. By hand work plant, hoe,
harvest, wash separate grade & pack Flowers, Strawberries, Green Beans,
Peppers, Zucchini, Summer Squash, Asparagus, Cucumbers, Eggplant,
Tomatoes, Sweet Corn, Melons, Pumpkins, Fall Squash, and Gourds. Workers
will care for plants in the greenhouse. Workers will bend and stoop and
work on kneels for long periods of time caring for and harvesting the
above-named crops. Must be able to lift and carry 60 lbs. bags of sweet
corn. Agricultural Equipment Operation: Worker may operate tractors,
forklift, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery for land
preparation, maintenance and cultivation, Worker may operate equipment
used in agricultural production, such as tractors and implements. Worker
may manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on
machinery. Worker may load containers and products using forklifts.
Worker may operate grading and digging equipment. Properly licensed
workers will operate farm vehicles on public roadways. Worker may
perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting repair on equipment.
