Boeing’s Advanced Design and Prototype Solutions (ADaPS) organization in Huntsville, AL is looking for an Experienced Software Engineer capable of contributing to all phases of the software development lifecycle (requirements, architecture, implementation, and verification). ADaPS (an organization of over 100 software engineers) supports programs across the entire portfolio of Boeing products including Space Launch Systems (SLS), Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD), Commercial Space Crew Transportation System (CCTS), B-52 Bomber modernization, and advanced missile defense efforts. ADaPS specializes in executing software development utilizing small, responsive agile teams.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle (requirements, architecture, implementation, and verification).

  • Assist with analysis, test, modification, and enhancement of a complex legacy codebase.

  • Work in small to medium sized Agile teams composed of diverse engineering skills to tackle complex problems on a variety of programs.

  • Responsible for developing technical products, plans, documentation, and briefings in support of program requirements.

  • Mentoring entry-level and early career software developers.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. (Huntsville, AL)

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry

  • 3 or more years of experience developing software for real-time embedded systems.

  • 1 or more years of experience in writing code and maintaining software.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with systems architecture, requirements analysis, test, and verification.

  • Experience with Agile software development.

  • Experience programming in Ada, C, C++, or similar language.

  • Knowledge of Radar, communications, missile, GN&C (guidance, navigation & control), or similar technology.

  • A positive attitude towards learning, software quality, and teamwork.

Typical Education/Experience :

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience).

In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation :

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense. (Huntsville, Alabama)
