CFD Research Corporation Aerospace Engineering Manager in Huntsville, Alabama

This position will lead a variety of RandD activities for Aerospace customers managed out of the Aerospace and Defense Solutions Division. This particular role will develop and mentor staff as they engage customers and execute research and development tasks for NASA, DoD, and Commercial customers. In this role, the manager will leada highly technical staff (primarily PhD's) in their endeavor to develop and transition technology to customers.

This role will guide customer relationships, proposal development, and help shape technical solutions offered, as well as provide feedback and support to the PI's during task execution. The candidate will need to be comfortable with bringing both technical understanding and programmatic type support to complex tasks, while encouraging the growth of the technical staff. In addition to internal leadership, this role will be a a significant contributor to acquiring and developing relationships with new customers, as well as improving upon our successful customer relationships already in place.

Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess at least a Master's Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering (experience may substitute for advanced degree, PhD's are welcome to apply)
  • Candidate must have at least 10 years of experience in an engineering role, with at least 2 years of supervising or mentoring staff (advanced Degrees do count for some experience)
  • Candidate must befamiliar with applications of Computational Fluid Dynamics and Structural Dynamics tools and technologies
  • Position requires demonstrated experience working with customers (Army, Air Force, NASA, or other DoD customers) to define technical solutions and requirements and then successfully executing the tasks

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with Aerothermodynamics, Aeroacoustics, Aeroelasticity and/or Flow Control technologies is a plus
  • Experience in experimental fluid dynamics is a plus
