Position Description:
Radiance Technologies, a rapidly growing employee-owned company, is searching for a talented ASIC Designer to join the Microelectronic Technology Operation (MTO) on a temporary-on-call basis. MTO is focused on microelectronics security, and is involved in the development of anti-tamper / protective technologies, failure analysis, reverse engineering, full spectrum cyber operations, and cyber tool development and solutions. Additionally, MTO conducts vulnerability research to include hardware exploitation, side-channel attacks, fault-injection attacks, and reverse engineering. MTO is currently working on cutting-edge SandT programs for the Department of Defense, with aspirations to deploy these capabilities to the field.
The ASIC Designer will serve as a subject-matter expert, collaborating with full time employees in the design of custom sensors (primarily analog) and oscillators. As such, the candidate must be expert in
ASIC front end design and simulation
Consulting on ASIC back end design
Steering verification and validation plans
Analyzing and interpreting measured data
Mentoring other engineers
Work Location, Travel, Hours, and Benefits:
Hours: Tasking may vary over time, but is anticipated to average 1 to 2 days per week. As a temporary-on-call position, this role by definition will be < 1000 hrs / yr.
Benefits: This position is not eligible for fringe benefits or 401k/ESOP contributions.
Location: Radiance HQ, with the potential for occasional visits to Redstone Arsenal as needed.
Travel: No other travel is anticipated
Required Qualifications:
US citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance
BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other relevant technical field with at least 25 years of relevant work experience
Advanced knowledge of analog circuit design
Demonstrated ability to evaluate and solve open-ended problems
Strong analytical, debugging, and troubleshooting skills
Ability and willingness to mentor other technical personnel
Desired Qualifications:
Verifiable track record of highly creative approaches to solving difficult problems
Experience designing physically unclonable functions
Knowledge of advanced packaging
Experience with Cadence toolchains
Experience at or around 12nm nodes
Participation in silicon bring-up, validation, and debugging
Model creation from empirical data
