Radiance is seeking a highly qualified and motivated engineer or scientist to serve as the Radar Communications engineer on foreign air defense radar systems. The candidate will lead or support the development of a comprehensive understanding, assessment, and design of the foreign radars communication systems associated with receiving and transmitting information to/from external systems or data sources. The assessment will include:
The radars physical communication systems characteristics, performance, limitations, and operations to include operator input, cyclical timers, and receipt and processing mechanisms.
Physical characteristics include data link means (radio, landline, SATCOM), frequency, bandwidth, modulation, baud rate, bit rate, and link level protocols.
The external data link content, specifications (formats, field ranges, and bit weights) and information security.
The candidate will ensure that the overall assessment and design are consistent with the design philosophy of the foreign designers.
Required Skills
Bachelors degree or higher in Engineering, Physics, or relevant technical field
Current TS/SCI clearance
Able to perform exploratory analysis and research, and present results to both technical and non-technical audiences
Effective interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate successfully with other internal and external stakeholders
Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to succinctly describe complex technical scenarios in simple, easily understood terms
Strong analytic, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills
Required Experience
Five or more years experience with radar or weapon system communication systems
Previous experience characterizing weapon systems
Experience with or extensive knowledge of weapon communication systems
Desired Qualifications
Active TS/SCI w/ CI poly clearance
Previous ITEAMS experience
Experience supporting US Government SandTI Centers
