Job Summary:

  • The Senior Manager, EU Sales - Defense is instrumental in Teledyne FLIR’s company growth for Europe Unmanned Ground Systems Market that is booming, we simply need more boots on the ground to capture the growing market.

  • Drive the increase of our UGS sales and market share near term and at the same time developing increased long-term opportunities.

  • Responsible for developing and execute pursuit strategies for high value Teledyne FLIR Defense products responsible focus UGS products also provide support within UAS, Surveillance and Integrated Solutions product spectra.

  • Responsible to lead the capture and proposal process for all UGS pursuits and support key customers by anticipating future customer requirements and needs to capture both minor and major programs across Europe.

  • The UGS candidate shall bring initiatives from larger amount of live demonstration and customer face to face meeting supporting sustainable growth in revenues and customer satisfaction over time, while maintaining positive business relationships to ensure future sales.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Be a key individual contributor in a collaborative European team, executing TDY FLIR’s objectives, with principal focus on the UGS market Europe.

  • Carry out regular analysis of market needs and competitive scenarios, providing feedback to management.

  • Promote, develop, and conclude sales of Teledyne FLIR Defense products to OEMs, end users, and integrators across the region.

  • Identify and develop business partners across Europe region to support the long-term sales growth of Teledyne FLIR Defense.

  • Develop strategies and options favorable to Teledyne FLIR Defense, to capture business opportunities in the region.

  • Manage the sales and business development process with an emphasis on predictable growth and success in orders capture.

  • Support operational execution including licensing requirements, administrative tasks, etc.

  • Be the main POC for assigned customers and end users, from order capture through post-sales support.

  • Manage sales pursuits within the region including regular monitoring and timely responses to RFQ, RFPs, demo requests, and information requests.

  • Set and meet or exceed booking forecasts for assigned customers and territories

  • Support tradeshows, demonstrations, and other public-facing events as scheduled

  • Analyze the customer’s market potential, funding, and equipment needs in order to prioritize efforts

  • Provide input for next generation product development plans and initiatives

  • Follow up with customers on existing and potential opportunities

  • Achieve sales targets within schedule

  • Ensure customer satisfaction and manage customers questions, concerns, inquiries, offers, orders and overall timely responses

  • Be a part of a larger team and organize support for own tasks and initiatives as well as support peers in their tasks and initiatives

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equal military background.

  • Demonstrated experience working closely with military customers and building constructive relationships.

  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and execution.

  • Demonstrated experience in building and contributing productively to integrated teams, bringing together diverse disciplines and positions, and working toward an established goal in a cooperative and timely manner.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and flex easily to additional missions when required on short notice.

  • Demonstrated aptitude with high-tech products and the ability to demonstrate and present products at tradeshows and customer sites to targeted customers.

  • Demonstrated comfort managing and communicating at both the big picture and granular detail levels.

  • Demonstrated strong ability to communicate (verbal, visual, written) with others ranging from generals, admirals, and CEOs, to privates, civilians, engineers, media, and others.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead small teams in mission success, including international sales.

  • Demonstrated strong work ethic with the flexibility to work individually or with a team.

  • Demonstrated strong team commitment.

  • International sales experience with ITAR controller US defense products.

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills. Fluency in other languages for the region is a plus

  • Ability to travel up to 50% at peak times.

This position requires access to export-controlled information or items, and we therefore require Norwegian Security Clearance.
