The Staff Accountant will assist in preparation of monthly financial
statements, year-end audits, budgets, reconciliations & perform general
accounting duties. They will prepare financial reports to track the
organization\'s assets, liabilities, profit & loss, tax liabilities, &
other related financial activities. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Create general ledger entries for deposit & income allocations, code &
allocate expense items, complete payroll entries & bank reconciliations.
Assist in preparing & analyzing month-end financials & year-end
financials, identify budget variances, & margin discrepancies. Complete
sales & meals tax preparation. Oversee cash management. Maintain 401k
database to ensure accurate hire/term dates & hours of service. Work
with payroll &/or human resources to adjust dates in the payroll system
as warranted. Work collaboratively with payroll, accounting, & cash
office staff. Other Duties: Various accounting & financial projects.
Required Education & Experience: Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting,
Finance, or related field. Minimum 5 years prior experience in
Accounting. Working knowledge of general ledger & financial statements.
Detailed accounting & analytical skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office,
with advanced skills in Excel. Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Excellent verbal & written communication skills. Ability to prioritize
work & manage multi-tasking of daily workload & projects. Must be
comfortable & productive in a team environment & working independently.
Work collaboratively with all managers & support staff. Must be able to
safely perform the essential duties for the position, with or without,
reasonable accommodation. Typical Work Environments: Shared office
space. Located on Harbor, marine (maritime) environment.
