The Role

As a System Administrator at Kyndryl, you’ll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. You’ll be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients – which means some of the biggest in the world.

There’s never a typical day as a System Administrator at Kyndryl, because no two projects are alike. You’ll be managing systems data for clients and providing day-to-day solutions and security compliance. You’ll oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets to deliver the best solutions to our clients.

Primary Skills: Switching & Routing then Azure

Must have: F5 Load Balancers, Cisco Routers/Switches, Fortinet Firewalls

Position Description:

Description:

Be part of a team that is responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and supporting all data communications and networking hardware and software for all locations at Finastra to include: corporate offices, on premises, and cloud data centers. You will need to be well versed in Cisco gear, Fortinet firewalls, BigIP load balancers, as well as the management tools for those products, and the NetBrain network management platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Install, configure, monitor and manage all network and data communications equipment including all hubs, routers/switches, intrusion detection systems, VPN concentrators, load balancers, and firewalls

  2. Provide ongoing monitoring of all networks and data communications facilities using approved network management tools and including monitoring access to Telecommunication carriers and managing the connection equipment

  3. Perform regular capacity planning to ensure network performance will meet anticipated requirements, monitor capacity, and work with carriers to adjust capacity as needed

  4. Responsible for internet access including installing, configuring, maintaining routers and firewalls, configuring routing protocols, and monitoring performance of the same

  5. Troubleshoot all network problems; open issues in the Problem and Change Management databases, record resolution; provide tier 2 support; ensure all issues are resolved as per published service levels or escalate as necessary

  6. Provide maintenance to equipment as required

  7. Maintain all technical configuration documents and review/update processes and procedures and maintain appropriate documentation

  8. Provide weekly updates of work activity to the Manager, Network Operations

  9. Participate on project teams working with all Infrastructure teams or Network Engineers/Architects; take high level plans developed by engineers/architects and develop a detailed plan broken down by task for implementation

  10. Work with internal and external customers to convert requirements into actionable change requests for implementation

  11. Occasional On call 24 duties; on occasion will have to be at the office outside of normal working hours; occasional travel may be necessary

  12. Develop and keep current a personal professional education plan with the assistance of your supervisor/manager

Technical Skills

  1. Functional knowledge of networking and data communication fundamentals including Ethernet and routing protocols (TCP/IP, Routing Protocols, etc)

  2. Functional knowledge of internetworking standards

  3. Functional knowledge of network management tools like Fortimanager, NetBrain, SolarWinds, etc.

  4. Knowledge of OSI protocol model

  5. Function hands on experience of Cloud networking principals in Azure and AWS
