General Motors GM Technical Center Korea- Communication Manager in Incheon, South Korea

Job Description

The Role –

The Communication Manager, role has responsibility to deliver communication strategy aligned with the business goals, supporting GMTCK President.

What You’ll Do -

  • Integral part of the team supporting GMTCK President.

  • Support GMTCK Senior leadership in developing messaging, storytelling and both external/internal Communication plans to support business objectives such as Engineering transformation to Virtual

  • Organize leadership workshops and communications forum where the cultural transformation is discussed and delivered as a key topic – GMTCK, Engineering and Senior leader workshops, All Employee Meeting and All People Leader Meeting etc.

  • Responsible for executive communications for GMTCK leadership : Develop speeches and presentations for GMTCK President, Shadow writer for President’s LinkedIn post

  • Organize and support external and internal activities for community outreach and driving culture such as CSR, SWE(Society of Women Engineers), GM Dreams, DE&I, Junior Board etc.

  • Collaborate with GMK Communications team for external storytelling initiatives including media events/interviews/thought leadership forum

  • Counsel, think strategically and deliver high-impact results for senior leadership and employee audiences.

Additional Job Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)-

  • 5+ years Communications experience in industrial sector

  • PR agency experiences preferred.

  • Must have multi national company working experiences

  • Strategic, creative thinker and storyteller

  • Strong understanding of how people consume information

  • Very good command of English both in verbal and written communications, bilingual (Korean & English) preferred

  • Exceptional writing, presentation and organizational skills

  • Ability to build strong relationships with all age groups

  • Foster collaboration: flexibility and ability to manage through ambiguity, coordinate with other global leads

  • Ability to manage priorities and multitask

  • Automotive industry background/knowledge preferred - know or want to learn about the business of automotive engineering and its language

  • Bachelor's degree – Communications, Journalism, General Business or Related Field
