Lilly Associate Director - Therapeutic Area Demand Planning Lead in Indianapolis, Indiana

Organizational focus on the Supply Chain needs for assigned Business Unit for Global Demand and US market supply and leading the interface with commercial organization for demand planning, lifecycle planning, and customer services for domestic operations; Oversee global product implications in collaboration with international business unit (IBU) and global supply chain (GSC) leaders.

Role Overview:

Therapeutic Area Demand Planning Leads are to be responsible for coordinating with commercial team to manage demand forecast, and strategically planning for new product launches, ensuring efficient and seamless integrated business planning by collaborating with supply planning stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

Functional:

  • Manage Demand Forecasting

  • Align and adjust the baseline therapeutic area demand forecast by working with commercial teams on the latest market insights for the respective therapeutic area

  • Identify forecast drivers and signals to improve the overall accuracy for new and existing products for the therapeutic area based on historical data, market trends, and input from relevant stakeholders

  • Collaborate with commercial teams to align on allocation rules and customer/order prioritization in the event of constrained supply

  • Responsible for driving segmentation-based approach to manage demand forecasting process for SKUs within the therapy portfolio

  • Identify demand shaping actions at the region/market level to improve overall forecast and close gaps against the latest estimate targets

  • Ensure seamless process execution by incorporating demand sensing including ad hoc requests for demand fulfillment

  • Establish exception management processes to troubleshoot therapeutic area specific demand planning related issues & escalations

  • Facilitate Launch Planning

  • Develop and oversee the forecast of new product launch all the way to commercial stage

  • Manage and identify ways to improve forecast accuracy for all products

  • Drive flavor management for the therapeutic area and provide insights for decision making based on demand forecast accuracy

  • Support Integrated Business Planning

  • Provide inputs to Integrated Business Planning and Global Supply Planning on potential risks and opportunities related to all products and markets within the therapy group

  • Analytics and Reporting

  • Establish & monitor KPIs for therapeutic area demand planning processes

  • Conduct post-launch analysis to evaluate the accuracy of demand forecasts and the effectiveness of demand planning

Basic Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 5+ years of experience in business, supply chain management, or a related field.

  2. Minimum 5+ years of experience in demand planning, preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.

  3. Experience with selecting and implementing planning technology solution

  4. Experience with developing & implementing demand planning framework & strategy, processes, performance metrics, modeling, forecasting, analysis, and simulation.​

  5. Leadership experience

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  1. Advanced degree or certification in supply chain management

  2. Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and forecasting tools 3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions

  3. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision

  4. Six sigma green / black belt with relevant experience

  5. Commercial and financial awareness with Project management skills (PMP Certified preferred)

  6. Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance in the pharmaceutical industry
