TEKsystems FIELD SUPPORT TECHNICIAN in Indianapolis, Indiana

MANAGER DESCRIPTION: -- Position will start as 6 month contract but extend another 6 months. • 2nd shift person (Hours are 3pm - 2am / M-Th / 4 10hr days) • Sit on shop floor. Make sure production runs. Triage problems. Be reliable and work independently. • Most IT staff not available so they need to be an independent worker • Support W10, middleware , citrix, scanning and printer hardware. • 2 weeks of training during the day shift (8-5) before running on their own during 2nd shift. • There is an on call process if they need assistance • During down time, they will Image and deploy hardware. (not primary role but will do this during down time) • Scope of role is narrow for a reason. They will support assembly and shipping. Keeping online processes working. Label printer jams, software crashes, peripheral hardware failure (ie. Scanners) • Good ability to tinker with hardware and do root cause analysis • Someone trying to get into IT is fine TOP 3 SKILLS Peripheral hardware and printing Networking (know how to ping a server, device, printer, etc. basic level) TS / Triage (application issue, network issue, hardware issue, server issue, etc.) FORMAL JOB DESCRIPTION: Formal Description below The Field Service Technician will provide local IT support services for an Allegion facility or support area. The technician will provide exceptional customer service to site personnel while providing exemplary technical support. The technician will support incident and request resolution to exceed SLAs, support the evolution of the client computing environment, and assist projects related to IT infrastructure to achieve business objectives. Support of this role includes regular day hours Monday through Friday and off hours support as required from time to time. Location: Indy Ops | Tobey Drive **Onsite role JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: • Be empowered and accountable in providing advanced technical support and resolutions, at a 2nd level, to exceed end-user expectations per Service Level Agreement metrics. • Demonstrate independent troubleshooting and decisive problem solving. • Be proactive in leveraging internal and external resources to help achieve to resolve incidents and complete goals. • Provide immediate technical support and solutions for office environments, manufacturing facilities, and warehouses. • Provide on-call support required as needed. • Assist in assigned projects to drive operational and/or IT improvements. • Follow and promote defined ITIL procedures. • Provide basic support of network, server, security, and application infrastructure. • Perform root cause analysis to eliminate reoccurring incidents. • Execute defined IT software and hardware lifecycle processes including ordering, tracking, deployment within defined performance metrics. • Install technology hardware and software that fulfill user requests according to standards or requirements. • Perform other assigned operational duties. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: • A minimum of 2-5 years work experience supporting Manufacturing and Office environments, specifically, a high level functional and technical working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, Apple OSX, Microsoft Office Suites and Microsoft Software (SharePoint, Skype/Teams, Visio). Mobile environment operating systems; Apple iOS. Android, Windows CE. • Must have outstanding and highly-professional verbal and written communications skills and effective at communicating highly technical issues in a non-technical manner, considerate of each customer's focus and priority. • Experience with PC Hardware troubleshooting. • Basic Audio-Visual Support • Experience with handheld scanners. • Experience supporting label, laser, and multifunction printing. • Broad technical IT knowledge and awareness of industry trends. • Operational Excellence - Root Cause Analysis, process, risk reduction, security and controls, change management. • Working in cross functional teams and the ability to work as part of a virtual team. • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively. • Candidate must be a self-motivated problem solver operating with limited supervision to help achieve goals for a global team. Work Schedule: This role will be tied to the second shift. Current start times: Mon- Friday: 3PM- 11:30PM (TEAM CURRENTLY WORKS TO 1:30AM) Every other Sat: 10AM – 8PM Ideal Candidate? An individual who has had manufacturing warehouse support experience, not just office support. This individual will be working with label printers, mobile scanners as well as laptops and desk tops.They will be required to service equipment (desktops/scanners) within this facility.
