We are seeking a Medical Lab Scientist to join their growing team!

Pay: $25-39/hr

Shift: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm

Job Type: Contract-Hire

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a wide range of laboratory tests on patient samples using automated and manual techniques, including but not limited to chemistry, hematology, coagulation, and urinalysis.

  • Ensure proper operation, maintenance, and calibration of laboratory equipment and instruments to guarantee accurate and reliable test results.

  • Implement and maintain quality control procedures to monitor the accuracy and precision of test methodologies, troubleshoot issues as they arise, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and protocols.

  • Analyze test results, interpret findings, and accurately report laboratory data to healthcare providers in a timely manner, aiding in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

  • Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of all laboratory procedures, test results, quality control measures, and instrument maintenance activities in accordance with established protocols and regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate effectively with other members of the healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and laboratory staff, to ensure coordinated patient care and optimal clinical outcomes. Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and external stakeholders.

  • Stay abreast of advances in laboratory technology, methodology, and best practices through ongoing professional development and participation in relevant training programs, workshops, and conferences.

  • Adhere to strict safety protocols and procedures in the handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials and biohazardous waste, maintaining a safe working environment for oneself and others.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science OR BS in Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science from an accredited college or university with at least 1 year of training or experience in specialty in which testing will be performed. Such training must be equivalent to that received in a school of Medical Technology.

  • Generalist experience in a CORE laboratory.
