Sales Account Executive I
The selected candidate will be responsible for selling new business in Northern Indiana and will be expected to reside within this territory. The selected candidate will be expected to travel regularly within the assigned territory and occasionally state-wide—travel could range from 25-35%.
Responsible for acquiring new large group accounts through brokers and/or directly to customers. The typical group size is 51-150 employees.
Primary duties include:
Prospects accounts and produces revenue through new sales.
Generates lead activity and makes sales calls.
Cultivates strong broker relationships and educates the broker community on Anthem products and services.
Develops strategies and utilizes selling techniques to acquire new business.
Grows a pipeline of long-term prospects while consistently closing opportunities.
Requires a BA/BS; 3 years of related business development, sales, sales support, and/or account management experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Exhibits sales competencies as defined by the business unit.
Sales license required by day 30 of employment.
Sales experience required; health insurance industry and/or healthcare industry experience preferred but not required.
Demonstrated track record of success in a fast-paced, relation-driven sales environment.
