Definition and Duties
Under the supervision of the Ambulance Director, the Assistant Director, Education Supervisor or Field Supervisor, receives on-the-job training and job-related education to provide EMT level patient care in accordance with the ambulance service protocols and under the direction of the medical control physician or physician designee. Assist assigned mentor (management member/Field Training Officer) with EMT duties and follow instruction as entry-level trainee.

- Sit, squat, kneel, crawl, jump, twist, reach, bend, stoop, stand, and step into and out of an ambulance
- Endureexposuretoadverseweatherconditionsandterrainswhileconductingfieldwork
- Handle potential exposure to harmful blood and body fluids, infectious disease, harmful chemicals and drugs
- Have sufficient manual dexterity to make handwritten notations and which permits moderate use of a keyboard and mouse
- Have sufficient vision which permits light to moderate production and review of a wide variety of materials both in electronic and hard copy forms

- Work flexible schedule and be on-call as assigned
Minimum Education, Training and Experience and Special Requirements
Highschoolgraduateorequivalent.
Special requirements:Must pass background check. Valid drivers license and insurable under county liability coverage. Safe driving record.
