Position: Outpatient Therapist

Location: Irondale, AL

Shift: As Needed

Job Description:

To provide therapeutic services within the program and the community for individuals in order to increase their inter/intra personal development.

Essential Duties:

Attends work consistently and as scheduled

Identifies one’s own areas of strengths and weaknesses and seeks out supervision and training when needed and attends as scheduled.

Ability to build morale and group commitments to goals, objectives, supports everyone’s efforts to succeed

Provides feedback and participates in development and modification of the Agency’s operations and policies

Demonstrates knowledge and adherence to all licensing standards..

Interviews individual to obtain information concerning medical history or other pertinent information including all clinical intake information

Observes individual to detect indications of abnormal physical or mental behavior.

Collects data tracking target problem behaviors.

Reviews results of data to evaluate individual’s needs.

Plans and administers therapeutic or behavioral treatment such as behavior modification and stress management therapy to assist individual in controlling disorders and other problems.

Document significant events/behaviors in progress notes.

Participates in team meetings as needed.

Completes service coordination as needed.

Reviews time in ADP system to ensure accuracy.

Facilitate training to staff of individuals treatment plans.

Creates, monitors and evaluate progress and effectiveness of treatment plan.

Changes method and degree of therapy when indicated by an individual's reactions.

Discusses progress toward goals with the individual

Consults with medical doctor or other specialists concerning treatment plan and amends plan as directed.

Refers an individual to supportive services to supplement treatment and counseling.

Participate in monthly supervision

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be 18 years or older and possess a valid driver’s license.

Clearance following a federal and state criminal background check.

An initial tuberculosis screening;Annual tuberculosis screening to be completed only if there has been known exposure or evidence of ongoing TB transmission.

Must be able to successfully complete required training which includes but is not limited to:

-American Red Cross Adult CPR and First Aid

-Crisis Response Training

-Initial and annual training on Preventing Abuse and Neglect and Reporting

-Initial Infection Control Training and Universal Precautions

-Professional and/or Specialized training as required
